Recently I visited the Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem, named Yad Vashem. The complex has recently been completed renovated. As I walked through the museum, the real horrors of the Holocaust came to light. I sat on a bench, by accident, that was an actual bench that came from the Warsaw Ghetto. I touched a cart that was used to carry away bodies of Jews that died of starvation or disease. I saw the pictures of the Jewish Polish Community, before the Holocaust and afterwards. Every Pole should visit Yad Vashem to remember the beauty of what they once had and how they lost it.
To my great surprise I have allies in my quest to have our property returned. The Pastor of a local Polish Church in Detroit has voluntarily decided to look into this matter. Apparently, he grew up near Radziejow. Since this is only the initial stage I cannot foresee the outcome. I am hopeful, and will keep my readers informed of any progress. Stay tuned!
